2/6/2012 Hydro Island Expansion Details and Changes JEC MODELs is proud to unveil the expansion plans for “Hydro Island: Jay’s Model Water Park.” The plan begins with a new piece of land area. This area will triple the space of the park as a whole. Up until now, “Hydro Island” was built to be a small model with minimal theming. Beginning this year, the park will become fully themed and divided into areas. Each area will have a slightly different theme to it and will feature a small list of related attractions. The first area is Hydro Isle. This section is the original 2008 fountain, built with three water slides: ‘Redneck Twister’, ‘Black Hole’, and then in early 2009, ‘River-Jack Mountain’. Hydro Isle also has ‘Hydro River’: an action filled lazy river, and ‘Family Volleyball’ courts. To the north is Diamond Bay. This area opened in late 2010. Its signature attraction is the world’s only known operating model wave pool, ‘Diamond Bay Waves’. Other added attractions include the ‘Diamond Bay Snack Shack’ and ‘Tube Rentals’. Also, introduced as a new state-of-the-art 2011 funnel slide is the ‘Enthraller’. This slide uses tubes to deliver its thrills and begins in the cliffs of Hydro Isle, but exits into the Diamond Bay area. In the future, the entrance of this slide will also be accessible in Diamond Bay. West of Diamond Bay’s wave pool area will be Paradise Landing. New for 2012, this new area will feature a new waterslide and play area complex using another working fountain. JEC Models’ new signature attraction set to debut this March promises to shine in the day and then glow all evening long. This new area will be built of 3 towers, all different sizes, with 6 water slides, a wading pool, and a bundle of kid-friendly water shooters, random water drenching pails, and lots of playground-like bells & whistles. The overall area will also feature a novelty store selling swim suits, dry snacks, and beverages. Planned for later in 2012 is the addition of a working model whirlpool. The new rounded pool will be constructed near the park’s new entrance just in time for summer. “Hydro Island” will re-open with much more theming, benches, more trash bins, and for the first time ever will also have lighting added for special night hours. JEC Models is building the park’s new landscapes using special non-bake clay. Moving forward, there is certainly room to expand. The owner is working on his 3rd model park, set to debut in late Winter 2012. The new, still un-named model will be marketed as a ‘fun park’. This is due to the anticipated smaller size of the park (less than 6 square feet), with only 10 rides and attractions that will operate. The entire park will feature a handful of classic rides from the mid-1900s, some thrilling, all of which will be family-friendly in some way. “Hydro Island: Jay’s Model Water Park” will continue to expand in 2012 with the addition of a new aquatics play zone for kids sometime in the middle of the year. The park has slowly been expanding since its debut in late 2008. The new kids area will be pumped separately from the other parts of the park, and will be fully operational once complete. “Ultima S-Cape: Jay’s Model Theme Park” remains closed until a new location for the park to operate becomes available. Many additions are planned for the model once it does re-open, including another major expansion to exceed 75 square feet, a new themed district, many new family attractions, some major thrill rides, and of course new state of the art record breaking roller coasters. It is hoped that the re-opening and expansion of the park will take place in the near future, however no set timeline is currently in place. Guests will experience JEC MODELs in a whole new direction. The park will be modeled after an ancient old fashioned amusement park. With gardens of flowers, trees, and gravel as the walkways surrounding all of the attractions. More information will released in November 2011 with full details. The 58 square-foot park will be downsized upon a reopening to roughly just under 50 square-feet. The park is sure to lose a few roller coasters, as well as themed areas for the time being. Currently, the new big 2012 expansion plans are simply on hold and so are the two signature roller coasters planned for the coming year. It is unknown how Ultima S-Cape will expand in the near future. Despite the move, both 'Ultima S-Cape' and 'Hydro Island: Model Water Park' will return just in time for the Holiday 2011 season. 'Ultima S-Cape' will most likely focus more on special events in 2012, such as X-MasVille, which has several temporary attractions, including a carousal which might be placed permanently somewhere within the park in the Winter. The 'Hydro Island' model will remain its current size for now. New attractions are planned in 2012. In the box they were suprised to find that it was not the new roller coaster, which is currently under construction. Instead, it was the expansion land where the mystery coaster may go, as well as much more. This is a very exciting expansion annoucement for the park. Soon, guests will see a new themed district, more shows, an increase of our dining services, new rides, and of course, more state-of-the-art model roller coasters, all of which will be introduced in 2012. The slide will be modeled after the company ProSlide Technology's "TORNADO" slide. Riders will begin their journey inside a dark tunnel before plummeting down a full 45-degree drop, then flying into a unique funnel up the opposite side, followed by a moment of weightlessness. After soaring through a series of oscillations, the remaining survivors will then splash into a pool of shallow water where they will safely exit the cloverleaf-shaped tube. The name of the new slide will be "Enthraller." In addition, the existing slides; "River-Jack Mountain" will be re-painted royal blue, "Redneck Twister" will receive a fresh coat of red paint, and "Black Hole" will receive a fresh, jet-black paint job. The centerpiece attraction was introduced in Spring of 2010. At 31" above the ground and with a second 41" drop at an 80 degree angle, this bright yellow roller coaster was sure to please extreme thrill seekers of any kind. In Fall 201l, heading into the coasters third operating season, the ride was modified due of the low efficiency and high breakdown percentage. The large clif-like second drop was removed and stretched into the park over what is now 'Party Square USA'. Not only stretched and with a new and improved camelback the coaster also received a high speed 120° overbanked turn. Since the change, the ride has become a favorite within the park and an eye catcher at first glimpse as guests enter Ultima S-Cape. This Fall 2011, "Skariyaptor" will be transformed from an aging hyper coaster generation style to the new generation mega coaster. Beginning with a shiny new color scheme; we will be repainting the roller coaster from yellow to silver gray with new bright red rails and dark maroon ties to complete the new color scheme. "Skariyaptor" will also receive a 'special effect tunnel' of which will feature an on-ride-photo and strobe lights as the train passes by. The total cost for the upgrade is around $60. It is rare to find special bright red rails, so will certainly be a huge treat for such an already amazing roller coaster! An updated, more professional logo is being created for the ride. The name "Skariyaptor" is a fantasy hybrid bird created by Tingsong Lim from Malaysia. The bird is intended to be half raptor and half human. "Skariyaptor" is now closed for the remainder of the Summer season and will reopen officially this August as part of the Fall 2011 season. Please note: This is a model theme park. The primary changes will be noticed highly on the west side of the park. This includes rebranding some existing themed areas (districts), shuffling several ageing rides and other attractions around, and the addition of 2 new major attractions. The middle of the park is also in the overall 2011 plans to become renovated. 'Strip Street USA' will be recieving a new nightclub and many of the districts buildings will be hand painted. Heading to the westside of the park is Ultima Scapes newest additions 'TinTown' and 'Pleasure Jungle'! 'TinTown was a park gift for the Holiday 2010 season. And so was the relocation of the park entrance. "Hydro Island: Jay's Model Water Park" also debuted during this season on the park map. There are big plans for that specific model to tie into the year 2011 as well. But further development these new areas are certainly planned in the mix of 2011 improvements too, even being so new. 'Pleasure Jungle' opened and made Ultima S-Cape 50 square feet. It adds 5 NEW major attractions to the park including the world's first and only model 5D roller coaster. This is only the beginning to such an expansion to the park. Expect names to change and other new attractions in this specific area in the near future. 'BaseZero' is planned to remain the same during the year of 2011. Other JEC MODELs highlights include a completely new website. Jay Conley is working with a web developer to create a more professional site. The entire model is being remarketed. Were gonna add our long planned park merchandise for webviewers to help support and donate to the park. Additionally to the new online store, will be custom built model rides and kits at amazing prices. The JEC MODELs team wants to generate more website traffic and park model interests to hopefully expand the team. JECMODELS.com will relaunch with a new Ultima S-Cape website as well in February 2011. Please note: This is a model theme park. Themed to 'sins', the name of the coaster will be the "Flam'n Loop". The layout is quite simple though; it features a vertical loop and two 270 degree spirals. Perhaps the most unique element of this new attraction is that the lift hill is the first half of the vertical loop! JEC Model's owner Jay Conley says that "This new roller coaster will be a perfect addition to Ultima S-Cape and will become a first time roller coaster rider style attraction in the park. There is only one inversion within the entire ride. Clearly even a youngster may wanna try this amazing mild thrill ride." This makes a total of 6 model roller coasters at Ultima S-Cape; still the most model coasters in one model theme park on the East Coast of the USA known. "Flam'n Loop" is scheduled to debut in the "Krazyville" district on September 11, 2010. This is obviously a fictional model. Ultima S-Cape recently announced their Fall 2010 expansion plan with the addition of "TinTown", a new district and an additional 6 square foot of land to create it. Yesterday, the park determined they would postpone the expansion and several new attractions along with it until the 2010 Holiday Season. Ultima S-Cape is scheduled to open their Fall 2010 season August 20. The park will only run the "Party Nites" during its first and second weekend of the season. Despite the expansion delay, Ultima S-Cape's new big roller coaster is here. The ride is as unique as some of the parks current most beloved coasters. Riders will take flight after a near 50mph launch through multiple elements inside the park. "Tengu" is park's first launch style roller coaster. The ride is categorized as a "Flying Roller Coaster". "Tengu" is a name from the mythology dictionary and resembles a 'human crow'. JEC Model's is proud to make "Tengu" Ultima S-Cape's 5th current operating model roller coaster within the 42 square foot park. The ride will be colored with purple supports, a black spine and bright orange colored ties and rails. The new roller coaster is expected to be ready for a grand opening just in time for Labor Day weekend. Ultima S-Cape will also be refurbishing several other rides and attractions including "Skariyaptor," the parks signature roller coaster. "Skariyaptor" will not be modified in length, however the 4ft second drop will be dismantled and replaced with a new thrill element! The track will be pulled above the midway out of the second drop and soar into what is called a 'wingturn' element which banked at approximately a 135 degree angle at just 14 inches (scaled at 75ft) above the ground. The train on "Skariyaptor" will remain the same. The reason for the slight track modification is to create a higher efficiency rating no matter what the weather brings. "Cyro 360" will also undergo a few track modifications to create a better lift hill efficiency rating as well. This is obviously a fictional model. If this was a real theme park the ride & attraction scales, finances, and business models would be adjusted to fit real life. Thursday, February 21, 2008 Ultima S-Cape will be spinning around various park improvements this Spring 2008 Today, JEC MODELS announces their investment for the Spring 2008 season. For starters, "El Lasso" will be the park's star new attraction! From sharp whipping turns to wild plunges and sudden jumps; "El Lasso" will become the world's first and only model spinning roller coaster. Guest's will step into custom cars with a seating arrangement that will allow riders to face each other; then the car will spin freely while traveling around a standard wild mouse course. "It's going to be an amazing ride for the entire family", says Jay Con, owner of Ultima S-Cape. Originally built to open for Winter 2008, the park owner says the delayed opening is well worth the wait. Additionally, the park will unveil "Rabid Rumbler 360" optimized for the 'Dance Zone's party nights. The totally new night time experience will feature glow in the dark trains and track. A new station is also planned for the giant troubled roller coaster. Not only will the park feature major upgrades for there roller coasters, however also for the ground too! JEC MODELS is investing in a sub-base to level out the park and a new grass mat to prepare Ultima S-Cape for a grand nighttime event experience tentatively just in time for this summer. Paths will be added for the first time since Fall 2006 along with pathway lamps. Additional various improvements are also planned for the park. The new Spring 2008 season is scheduled to begin April 4. Tuesday, February 19, 2008 "El Lasso" opening is delayed, but will for sure Whip & now Spin too this Spring 2008! Spring 2008 at "Ultima S-Cape" will start with a spin as that Winter 2008's suppose to be 'star' attraction was delayed. "In the past we opened up unfinished rides, that was a mistake for the sake of maintance as well as the safety of our guests", says Jay Con; model theme park owner. The JEC Models team has been working on a solution for the owners original dream up for what is suppose to be a standard wild mouse roller coaster from Faller. As all of "Ultima S-Cape" rides and attractions are, Jay wanted something about this attraction to be different. He knew the layout could'nt be modified, but the cars could; therefore wanted spinning cars. This required the company to have to order new cars for the ride, imported from Germany. The cars would have to be specially crafted and built just for 'El Lasso'. When the roller coaster opens this Spring 2008, it will be the world's first and only model spinning roller coaster known. Unlike the traditional Faller model wild mouse, riders will face each other rather than the traditional 'facing the front' method. Riders may start off backwards or forwards, however by the end of the coaster ride, they may be still spinning on the brakes! JEC Model's noted that the extended wait will be worth it, they just wanna do the job right for there guests. The park will also be investing in their other roller coaster for the Spring 2008 season, details coming soon.
